News Years Eve Party

Every year we go to Kaysville and get together for fun and games. We started by playing some card games after dinner. I can't find our camera, so these pictures were taken by others at the party.

When it was time we began by playing a Paper, Scissors, Rock Tournament. I lost in the first round to Mark's 5/6 year old cousin, Sarah. Mark made it to the final round and lost to his dad. Next we played the traditional "Penny Game." Everyone stands in a circle with two pennies in their right hand. You decide if you want to put in 1, 2, or 0 pennies. Everyone guesses how many pennies are out in the circle. The last person left has to go ask the neighbors for a roll of toilet paper. It is really funny to watch. When you get out, you are jumping for joy! Mark's aunt Martha was the last one left in the circle. The neighbors told her they didn't have any, so they gave her some newspaper.

When she got back, we each wrote 4 resolutions and played charades with them. It was really fun. We played a human knot game. Each team raced against each other. My team came in 2nd place. We got something like 30 seconds. The 1st place team unknotted themselves in about 12 seconds.

We divided up into teams and built protective coverings for an egg to have an egg launch. Our egg was safe and sound!! A few of the eggs did crack.

Once that was done, there was time for one more game. It was called "Crazy, Crazy Cannibal." You are on a team of 3, you and the person to your right and left. We all came up with a skit for people to perform. It had a title, a chant, and something to know you were finished. It was hilarious! Everybody came up with funny skits.

The icing on the cake was the annual tree burning at midnight! Everyone brings their Christmas tree, we put fireworks on it and light it on fire!
